Remi

I’m a media artist interested in exploring the collaborative relationship between artists and computers through randomness, shape, and color.

What brought you here? Where are you going after?

I graduated from college a couple years ago and missed being in a collaborative + creative environment. I’m not sure where I’m going now, but I hope to continue to learn from others and find new connections between crafts and computing.

Something you would want to have happened differently? How would you want it to have happened?

I would love to hear more about what people did for homework each week. I also wish outline didn’t die.

Something you would want to do again or more? What made you feel like that?

I loved the activities. It was fun to do something hands-on and see how everyone’s work aligned or differed.

What was your worst and best memory of each week?

My worst memory was figuring out where to post homework on the google doc with everyone else at the same time. I didn’t want to post right in the middle of somebody else’s work.

I loved looking at resources everyone shared during class. I know I will revisit them often.

Would you share a moment that you felt lost and one that you felt creative?

I felt a little lost with Splaty Code, but I still enjoyed playing around with it. Color Code was a lot of fun to use. It was challenging to figure out how to make the first letter of my name, but it was satisfying to see it run and work when I did figure it out.

Do you feel you have made a new connection? With people, subject, practice, idea, etc... Have you deconstructed one?

I feel like I made a new connection between cellular automata and knitting (seeing knitting/purling in terms of ones/zeros). I hope to become a better knitter and explore that idea more

Did you see any peer work or works that caught your attention?

All of it!!
